This is my personal review without spoilers of the actual plot.

He knows how to score, on and off the ice

Allie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn’t have the first clue about what she’s going to do after college. To make matters worse, she’s nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won’t include the king of one-night stands.

It’ll take more than flashy moves to win her over

Dean always gets what he wants. Girls, grades, girls, recognition, girls…he’s a ladies man, all right, and he’s yet to meet a woman who’s immune to his charms. Until Allie. For one night, the feisty blonde rocked his entire world—and now she wants to be friends? Nope. It’s not over until he says it’s over. Dean is in full-on pursuit, but when life-rocking changes strike, he starts to wonder if maybe it’s time to stop focusing on scoring…and shoot for love.

These books has so much depth! I’ll be surprised if you can find the same amount in other books in general. The characters in this series deals with some major issues along the way, and by now you’re sort of used to the fact that some groundbreaking stuff is about to go down toward the end of the story. Must say this one was surprising too. These issues are real issues that can and probably will occur in people’s lives and therefor makes the books seem even more realistic. The characters alongside the plot makes it all very real and you can’t help applaud the characters for their shiny personalities and interesting humor. They all live similar lives, trying to educate themselves but they are vastly different from one another.

There’ll always be a favorite character or couple due to their dissimilarities. This time around, it’s about the notorious Dean, who is Summers big brother (Main character in the first Briar U) and the ever so interesting Allie, who happens to be besties with Hannah, from the first book in this series. They are all intertwined in some twisted sense. Like in the other two books, we get to see how Allie and Dean falls in love slowly. It’s a rare treat reading a book, which shows the two main characters fall in love instead of just being told, that is what happened. There’s no instant love, like in The Mortal Engines where the two main character all of a sudden was in love. These characters took their time, and honestly, it could have been longer in my opinion. Getting to know them was a treat on its own.

I wouldn’t say unlike in the other books, since it happened in the two others, but this time around, the character development is crazy. Dean goes through a major change and grow enormously, haha, as a character. It was epic to see how he evolved. I can see why some people think this is the best of the bunch so far. There’s not a single thing to complain about in this book, everything is perfect. There’s so many hilarious scenes that you should experience and read on your own! If you haven’t read this series, I’d suggest you stop with whatever you were doing before, or put down the book you’re reading now and start this series, you won’t regret it, maybe you’ll regret not reading these amazing books before. Recommendable!
