This is my personal review without spoilers of the actual plot.

Poppy Hathaway loves her unconventional family, though she longs for normalcy. Then fate leads to a meeting with Harry Rutledge, an enigmatic hotel owner and inventor with wealth, power, and a dangerous hidden life. When their flirtation compromises her own reputation, Poppy shocks everyone by accepting his proposal—only to find that her new husband offers his passion, but not his trust.

And she was everything he needed.

Harry was willing to do anything to win Poppy—except to open his heart. All his life, he has held the world at arm’s length…but the sharp, beguiling Poppy demands to be his wife in every way that matters. Still, as desire grows between them, an enemy lurks in the shadows. Now if Harry wants to keep Poppy by his side, he must forge a true union of body and soul, once and for all.

Yet another wonderful book by Lisa Kleypas. This time she surprised me by changing her familiar concepts and did something new and fresh. It kept me at my toes because I really didn’t expect this! I thought I had it all figured out before reading this book seeing as the overall idea of Kleypas’ books are the same, boy was I surprised!

Poppy is our Hathaway sibling in this story and I like her, she’s different from the rest of the Hathaway’s and the man in focus is called Harry Rutledge. Now this man awoke all kinds of emotions in me. Sometimes I found him incredibly charming and at times, I hated him! He is definitely a standout for me because of his personality and way of thinking, so unlike the rest of the “men” in Kleypas’ stories. I like how she had no issue with showing harry in the worst light possible.

What I like in this series overall, is that we spend a lot of time getting to know different characters, and not only the ones which are the main characters, but the other Hathaway siblings as well. I feel like I know Leo well and I can’t wait to hear his story in the next book.

Overall, this book, Tempt me at twilight turned out to be very satisfying but there’s something very basic about it compared to her other books. As usual, she nails the Victorian period with her beautiful language and scenery and it’s very captivating. At times, I was laughing loud! It’s just a nice feeling to feel like you know a book character so well that you can imagine what they’ll say and do, before even doing so. I guess that just shows how great an author Lisa Kleypas truly is.

You get a sneak peek into the next arc in the end of the book! Soooo excited!
