This is my personal review without spoilers of the actual plot.

Just as Ever is learning everything she can about her new abilities as an immortal, initiated into the dark, seductive world by her beloved Damen, something terrible is happening to him. As Ever’s powers are increasing, Damen’s begin to fade after he is stricken by a mysterious illness that threatens his memory, his identity, his life.

Desperate to save him, Ever travels to the mystical dimension of Summerland, where she uncovers not only the secrets of Damen’s past – the brutal, tortured history he hoped to keep hidden – but also an ancient text revealing the workings of time. With the approaching blue moon heralding her only window for travel, Ever is forced to decide between turning back the clock and saving her family from the accident that claimed them – or staying in the present and saving Damen, who grows weaker each day.

I liked the first book very much. However, this one is not my cup of tea. At first, it’s good since it picks up where the first left off. It’s nice how Ever is different and more happy at first but of course that has to change and quickly I might add.

During the read, I was annoyed and mad! The second Roman appeared in the book I smelled trouble a mile away. A classic complication and after that it all became predictable and boring.

Language wise it’s just as easy to read as the first. That’s the reason why I finished the book at all. Some of the book was good It’s just the remaining somewhat 200 pages that were dreadful. Granted it was nice to receive some information about Damen and immortals. Thankfully, we get away from the world we’ve gotten to know and onwards to a magical place called Summerland and I think that’s where the story finally begins for real. I was a little tired that it constantly has to be about love, it was nice to focus on something important for a change. I loved the World building that went into this book for sure. However, I could have used a better ending, to be honest I thought it was the worst ending possible! I’m excited though, to see how the story progresses.
