This is my personal review without spoilers of the actual plot.

In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there’s a deadly war raging between vampires and their slayers. And there exists a secret band of brothers like no other – six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Of these, Zsadist is the most terrifying member of the Black Dagger Brotherhood.

A former blood slave, the vampire Zsadist still bears the scars from a past filled with suffering and humiliation. Renowned for his unquenchable fury and sinister deeds, he is a savage feared by humans and vampires alike. Anger is his only companion, and terror is his only passion—until he rescues a beautiful aristocrat from the evil Lessening Society.

Bella is instantly entranced by the seething power Zsadist possesses. But even as their desire for one another begins to overtake them both, Zsadist’s thirst for vengeance against Bella’s tormentors drives him to the brink of madness. Now, Bella must help her lover overcome the wounds of his tortured past, and find a future with her

I’m starting to sense a theme; vampire warrior meets girl, girl falls in love with vampire warrior and end up happily ever after. All the things in the middle is just lots of words. It has a nice flow when it comes to changing main characters. This time it’s Zhadist & Bella and their match surprised me a bit but they were so cute together. I’m a sucker for happy conclusions and there’s definitely happy endings all right. I thought the parts with John was awesome too, he’s an interesting character that I’m sure we get to see more in the upcoming books.

I’m not really a fan when the plot changes to the Elementor’s point of view pisses me off to be honest and they aren’t that interesting!

I think this book is just as good as the first one, we see many character developments and they are very welcome. Each book concentrates on one Brother and we get to know that brother really well and only though interacting with the brother in the main role we get to know the others. All the parts containing them two lovers; Zhadist and Bella were very enjoyable and had my full attention. I love J. R. Ward’s way of writing. It’s very figuratively and it has a nice flow. It wasn’t as sexual driven as the second book but is still to the more grown up audience. I hope the series continue developing as the characters does. In addition, the plots keep coming! Even if the book has so many pages, it doesn’t feel like an endless road like for instance; Under the Dome by Stephen King.

I love the stylish simple look the books got. All of them looks so perfect!
