This is my personal review without spoilers of the actual plot.
After a bad break up, doesn’t every girl want the same things?
* For her ex-boyfriend to stay single forever…
* Or maybe emigrate, to a remote, uninhabited island?
* Better still, that she’d never met him in the first place!
But what if one of those wishes came true?
Tess is heartbroken when Seb breaks up with her and can’t help blaming herself. If only she’d done things differently. If only she could make right all her regrets… But she can’t. It’s over. She has to forget about him. Drunk and upset on New Year’s Eve she wishes she’d never met him.
But when she wakes up to discover this dream has come true, she realises she has a chance. To do it all over again. And to get it right this time.
This was supposed to be one of those books where you read fifty-somewhat pages and call it quits. The premises seemed dull and unimaginative, truthfully, the mechanics of the wish fulfillment was a bit odd, but after some time I couldn’t wait to see how it all came together.
Tess our main character is like any other girl who suffers from a breakup, sad, lonely and in a state of desperation in terms of what her ex is up too. She’s so down she wishes that she’d never met him and how her wish was granted is a mystery but anyhow she gets a second chance to win back the love of her life. This book is honestly like watching a movie, and it probably wouldn’t take much effort into converting it into one. Throughout the book, there are many clues dropped that will all tie up toward the end. That meant you had to stay alert for any clue you were given.
All the characters are vey likable in different ways. Tess is so funny! There will be times you’ll be laughing so loud your neighbors will complain! Would have liked her to have taken her job more serious and been less obsessed with pleasing Sebastian. She’s a very loyal friend, an amazing granddaughter and so nice, the kind of person you’d wish was your best friend. Tess’s grandfather was a trip! He was a charming rebel and lit a fire under the elderly home.
This is the perfect book for you who loves a good chick lit with a little twist of magic. It’s cute and entertaining with a classic storyline. Good book from start to finish.
