This is my personal review without spoilers of the actual plot.

Fifteen-year-old Izzy Brannick was trained to fight monsters. For centuries, her family has hunted magical creatures. But when Izzy’s older sister vanishes without a trace while on a job, Izzy’s mom decides they need to take a break.
Izzy and her mom move to a new town, but they soon discover it’s not as normal as it appears. A series of hauntings has been plaguing the local high school, and Izzy is determined to prove her worth and investigate. But assuming the guise of an average teenager is easier said than done. For a tough girl who’s always been on her own, it’s strange to suddenly make friends and maybe even have a crush.
Can Izzy trust her new friends to help find the secret behind the hauntings before more people get hurt?

When I first purchased this book, I was certain a sequel would be right around the corner and therefor waited until the release of either one or two books before beginning the adventure. Her last trilogy was so good, that waiting for a sequel would be damn near impossible. Finally decided to read it even though there’s no other books about Izzy planned. One-day Hawkins’ readers will realize that the adventures of Izzy and Dex is over. Very disappointing indeed.

This book was so entertaining! It makes you want to seek out book in the same genre, like Shadow Falls and Unearthly.

The characters are vibrant, amazing and with lots of charming qualities. Not one of the characters felt unnecessary and they were all very distinct. No doubt that the main character Izzy is my favorite. Her personality is cool and she seems very mature for her age. She’s badass and without a doubt one of my favorite heroines in this genre. Anderson and Romy was such a great match. Dex aka Dexter was a bit lackluster for me, he needed more character more to define his personality but if there’s ever a sequel out; the author will make us love him.

I’m so curious as to get to know more about Torin. What a character! He is that dark horse that’ll somehow end up playing a major part in the solvation of finding Finnley Izzy’s missing sister. Saying more about this short amazing story will just spoil it for all of you people whom still hasn’t read this incredible book. Clear recommendation from me.
