This is my personal review without spoilers of the actual plot.
Boet i Helvede
This book is currently only available in Danish!
My expectations toward this book were slim at best, not because I didn’t think it could be an interesting read but because I had no knowledge whatsoever of the author whom to my disadvantage is Danish, and I do have problems with Danish authors lately. Only a few manages to achieve the level that I’m used to from American and English authors.
I understand both the positive and negative reviews this book will receive. It’s such a big mixture of genres and the writing seem to change multiple times.
If you like a book that describes everything down to the last detail, this book is for you, however if you like me, would like to have an independent thought now and then, you’ll end up getting really annoyed. If you like a predictable story in which you won’t become agitated with how it ends I’d say give it a shot, because most of the story’s plot is straightforward with no fluctuations.
I didn’t care for the language it was atrocious. Both in terms of the story and in terms of the way it was written. I didn’t care for the main character one bit. However, I’m sure many younger girls will love him, overall the book, writing, plot or the characters didn’t appeal to me.
Thinking back, I haven’t even mentioned the things that annoyed me the most. The chapters had many time changes and some character changes and it all left me somewhat confused. Speaking of confused! The cat! Had a name but was called something else. Took me a long time to figure out there were only one cat and not two. Lastly, the world building was lack full.
