This is my personal review without spoilers of the actual plot.
The diagnosis for Poppy was death. there was no hope–until James, her best friend and secret love, appeared in the hospital. But this was a James she didn’t know. He offered Poppy eternal life. Only he could open the door to the Night World. They’re soulmates–but can she follow him into death and beyond?
This book blew me away! The second I finished this I instantly found the second one, but when I realized it was about different characters I was furious.
The main character, Poppy was well developed. It was easy to feel sympathy for her since her character sheet was so colorful and detailed. I expected to read a classic vampire story I certainly didn’t expect this groundbreaking love story.
I had a slight problem with James. He wasn’t as kind toward Poppy as I had hoped. However, it was nice to get to know him bit by bit and in the end, he’s any girl’s dream guy.
The book is short and language wise it’s very easy to read, so I’d definitely recommend this to girls any age and depending on your age, you’ll different reading experiences, the older you are the more detail you’ll observe. The writing is amazing. It captured me right away and the plot was original and unique I couldn’t put down the book, so I finished it in one go and that rarely happens.
It was easy to feel the author’s spirit and effort she put into her work, it’s such a beautiful work. Recommend this book if you’re feeling blue, or simply like to read about epic love stories.
