This is my personal review without spoilers of the actual plot.

Since Louisiana cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse has so few living relatives, she hates to lose one – even her cousin Hadley, undead consort of the vampire Queen of Louisiana. Hadley’s left everything she has to Sookie, but claiming that inheritance has a high risk factor. Some people don’t want her looking too deeply into Hadley’s past, or Hadley’s possessions. And they’re prepared to do anything in their power to stop her. Whoever it is, they’re definitely dangerous – and Sookie’s life is definitely on the line.

I think the books are heading in the wrong direction. It seems like the overall plot is being repeated. Someone is constantly trying to kill Sookie, I’d be surprised if that changed anytime soon but we will see!

Things happen in this book out of the blue, which I’m certain we’ve barely heard anything about. I was confused because I thought I missed something major but after rereading the chapters again, I realized that I hadn’t missed anything at all. Another guy, can you believe it? Another guy for our Sookie! Would she stick with this one? Alternatively, will he screw her over as Bill did?

I liked the supernatural creatures that appeared but frankly, it’s starting to get the upper hand.

I’m not sure how much more I want to read of these books, I’m grossed out to be honest by a lot of things and it seems silly to introduce supporting characters when we got some interesting ones already around. I like Eric, there’s absolutely no bullshit when it comes to him and his opinions. I hope that this was just a fluke and not the level of the last seven books.
