This is my personal review without spoilers of the actual plot.
Small-town cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse has had more than her share of experience with the supernatural—but now it’s really hitting close to home. When Sookie sees her brother Jason’s eyes start to change, she knows he’s about to turn into a were-panther for the first time—a transformation he embraces more readily than most shapeshifters she knows. But her concern becomes cold fear when a sniper sets his deadly sights on the local changeling population, and Jason’s new panther brethren suspect he may be the shooter. Now, Sookie has until the next full moon to find out who’s behind the attacks—unless the killer decides to find her first.
I’m not a fan of this book. Sure, it was cool to read about what happened next but I’m not feeling the passion while reading as I did before. Some of the magic were gone, don’t get me wrong though, it’s still a good read and worth it and all that. The overall problem in this book is very different from the others, and it’s not only vampires that gotten some negative attention. It was interesting to get a bit more insight in some of the other supernatural creatures, it made the story seem more fluent and realistic.
Now the book has some major surprises that I didn’t expect at all! I felt deceived by the actions of the perpetrator!
As it’s been made apparent, Sookie constantly has one or more men hungry for her body and it’s not any different in this one. If it’s not vampires, werewolves or shapeshifters it’s something else entirely. I’m starting to get a little annoyed by this. I wish she’s just choose one of them and get on with it already.
Slowly but steady we are seeing some character developments and I’m a fan of those changes, it’s nice to get to know the people in the town, some of them has some really interesting traits! Looking forward to the next one.
