This is my personal review without spoilers of the actual plot.
Vampire musician Michael Glass has attracted the attention of a big- time producer who wants to cut a demo and play some gigs-which means Michael will have to enter the human world. For this, he’s been assigned escorts that include both a dangerous immortal as well as Michael’s all-too-human friends. And with that mix of personalities, this is going to be a road trip from hell.
Many things happen at the beginning of the book and soon after we change scenery to outside of Morganville, wow, how saw that coming? It’s a trip filled with action and excitement. I was worried when they traveled to another town that the feel of the book would change but it stayed true to the storyline and actually followed up on some questions that we’ve had since the first few books. We see a nice development in Oliver for instance! He has always been a character that I’d been scared of caring for, for the simple fact that I wasn’t certain where he stood In terms of our main group.
However, he’s such an interesting addition to the story. Am I the only one who thinks the story seems to lose some of the magic? We still got our Claire whom by far is the better version of herself but the rest of the group seem to have lost their spirit. It doesn’t seem real anymore the love they ones shared. It all seem a bit forced.
We still get to see a lot of action but it seems like the author is just pilling more controversies than necessary.
