This is my personal review without spoilers of the actual plot.
MORGANVILLE IS SUCH A NICE PLACE TO LIVE… AND DIE. IF YOU DON’T MIND THAT SORT OF THING. When Claire Danvers learnt that her college town was run by vampires, she did what any intelligent, self-preserving student would do: she applied for a transfer and stocked up on garlic. The transfer is no longer an option, but that garlic may come in handy. Now Claire has pledged herself to Amelie, the most powerful vampire in town. The protection her contract secures does little to reassure her friends. All of a sudden, people are turning up dead, a stalker resurfaces from Claire’s past, and an ancient bloodsucker extends a chilling invitation for private lessons in his secluded home.
Oh wow, this was fantastic. My favorite character ever made in any book is present in this book, Myrnin! The feud between the characters is epic. It’s such a battle and it’s interesting from the first to the last page. My dislike with some of the characters has only grown stronger as the series progresses and frankly; it’s an annoyance at times. There’s just too much drama, especially where we really don’t need it.
It’s nice that even though they are vampires, they aren’t unbeatable but shows weaknesses.
The language is still awesome and easy to read; both young adults and grownups would find this interesting in my opinion. Of course, it has a teen feel to it but it’s not out of proportions.
It seems for Claire that when one problem solves itself, two new appears; she’s so unlucky and is constantly in the spotlight. I feel sad for her at times, because she’s such a likeable person, she deserves everything good coming to her, but it is taken away from her.
My favorite characters are the bad ones, ha-ha. Amelia is such an amazing character, she really shows great potential, she’s not afraid to be whom she is. Read it, it gets better and better!
