This is my personal review without spoilers of the actual plot.
For months Clara Gardner trained to face the fire from her visions, but she wasn’t prepared for the choice she had to make that day. And in the aftermath, she discovered that nothing about being part angel is as straightforward as she thought.
Now, torn between her love for Tucker and her complicated feelings about the roles she and Christian seem destined to play in a world that is both dangerous and beautiful, Clara struggles with a shocking revelation: Someone she loves will die in a matter of months. With her future uncertain, the only thing Clara knows for sure is that the fire was just the beginning.
In this compelling sequel to Unearthly, Cynthia Hand captures the joy of first love, the anguish of loss, and the confusion of becoming who you are.
This is such a great follow-up to the first book. It contains everything. Drama, love and a bunch of emotions. It’s clear that Clara has become more mature and we get the full package in this second installment.
The language is still easy and has a natural flow it’s still teen spirited though.
We get to know more about the story behind angels, which makes it even more interesting than the first book. All the questions you had from the first book is explained in this.
We get to know a few more people and they are amazing. I love the character building Cynthia did they are all very realistic and the thought process is sublime.
The world the story takes place in is our world, but the fantasy aspect is gradually taking over and becoming more prominent.
Now there’s no reason why you shouldn’t read this book! If you loved the love triangle in Twilight, you’re going to fall head over heels in love with this trilogy. Clara really is Bella 2.0. Lots of the stuff that happens can be seen in Twilight as well. In addition, who doesn’t love a good Angel story huh? We got many awesome characters and a buildup to the final book that exceeded my expectations.
