This is my personal review without spoilers of the actual plot.
16-årige Evyn flytter til den lille by Janmoor
The book is from a Danish author and is currently only available in Danish!
This is a sweet story. It might be scary to some people but most of all; it’s just a typical YA love story with some supernatural elements to it. The feel of the book is very children-like. I don’t care so much about that, but others might find it annoying. Our main character is sweet and innocent but not very memorable. She’s going through a slight change but not really a major one.
I’m afraid I won’t be reading this again. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad book! I’m sure younger girls would fall in love with this book! It speaks to the younger audience, not all young adult books are like that, some addresses anyone of any age or gender but this in particular is very specific in which type of reader it addresses.
It’s easy to read and the flow of the text comes natural, it’s important for a book in my opinion.
The book had its moments where I thought it might actually turn a little scary but unfortunately, it lost its spark few pages later.
I’m not sure how to grade this book. On one hand, it had some nice elements to it but at the same time, I felt a little bored. It was predictable at times only a few times thought out the book I thought that it might not get a happy ending but of course our main character magically saves the day and everyone lives happily ever after.
