First off, this hasn’t received a translation into any other language besides Danish so far. In addition, I’m sure that it won’t anytime soon. It’s not really a bit loss in the YA genre. It is 369 pages of a cliché teen drama with supernatural elements. The characters seem bland and very generic. They don’t appeal to me at least. I’m sure it’s a matter of age though. The audience of this book is directed toward youngsters around the early teens. I’m most certain that they will absolutely love this story. It’s easy to read and the language is very understanding.
It took me about 4 hours to finish this. I’m glad I read it for sure, because even though it didn’t fall to my taste it had potential. A few scenes in the book was actually interesting. It fully captured my interest at times whilst other times it was just a sugar sweet – with a little sugar on top – story. I’m sure many readers would absolutely love that part.
It’s all about what you like it a book. We can argue all we want about taste, but ultimately the decision befall ourselves whether we like it or not.
I’m not telling you to not buy this book I’m simply stating the fact that if you want a mere meaningful reading experience there are better ways to receive it. It doesn’t challenge our intellect. It’s predictable, common and average. It’s not bad nor good. The only memorable thing about this is the look. It’s such a beautiful book! I bought it solely because if it.
